- חַיִיץ
- חַיִיץm. (b. h. חַיִץ v. חוּץ I h. a. ch.) a pile of loose and uneven material, a rough extemporised embankment, opp. to earth-covered and finished. Shebi. III, 8 עושה הוא ח׳ (Y. ed. עוֹשֵׂהוּ) he may make (it) a loose embankment; Y. ib. 34d מהו ח׳ הָיֵּיץ ליה what is ḥayits? He partitions it up (ref. to Ez. 13:10, v. Targ. a. Rashi a. l.).
